Air Brake Endorsement Course
Build your air brake knowledge through classroom learning, hands-on instruction and on-site testing. Weekend courses in Mississauga, offered every two to four weeks.

Your course includes
- Ontario Safety League Air Brake Endorsement Manual
- 12+ hours of theory, hands-on instruction and test preparation
- Written and practical testing
What to bring
- A valid Class G or higher driver's licence
- CSA-approved safety shoes
G1 and G2 licence holders are not admitted to this course.
Testing at the school
The course includes one 20-question multiple-choice written test and one on-vehicle practical test.
Support if you need another attempt: If you do not pass the written or practical test, we provide additional training and one retest at no charge.
After successful completion
Take your course completion certificate to an Ontario DriveTest office to add the Z endorsement to your licence. Our in-house program includes the testing, so separate DriveTest written or practical air brake testing is not required.
Use your certificate within 180 days
The certificate expires after 180 days. Have the endorsement added within that period; otherwise, you must repeat the course.
The Z endorsement can be added to Classes A, B, C, D, E, F or G.
